Monday 1st of September
Heading off down to Blantyre today to work with lifestyle magazine today. Its about an hours drive by minibus Werner picked me up and took me to the office to discuss everything, im staying at his house but he is going up to Lilongwe for the week so it’ll be me and some other extended family members living there. And the best thing about his house is
HE HAS 5 DOGS they are amazing
Apparently they can be quite violent to strangers but they loved me straight away and he couldn’t believe there’s one that’s taken quite a shine to me her name is tiny and she’s 6 months old and no kidding she is the spitting image of gyp personality and all albeit a smaller puppier version but she’s got my pegged as a soft touch before id even sat down. If there’s one things that Malawians don’t understand its dogs to Malawian a dog is there to be kicked and to not be fed, they don’t understand the bond between humans and dogs, that a dog is your friend and a dog that loves and trusts you is much more useful than I dog that fears for its life around you. I think that might be why tiny took to me so quickly I didn’t put my foot in her back. Werner had a party the other week and had some beer left in the keg which was being returned to the brewery tomorrow and needed to be emptied, he asked if I could help with that, I said im sure I could so I got lots of free beer lol.
Tuesday 2nd September
Werner left today as his daughter is flying to England to study. So I went into the office for my 9 o’clock meeting with peter who is also helping design the website. By 11 he still hadn’t showed and I had been trying to call him finally he calls me and says he’s late, hmmm you think so, but apparently he’s on his way. He must live a long way away because at 5 he still hadn’t showed, but luckily I got a lot of work for the campsite done so it wasn’t a complete waste of time. When I got home I phone who and erm I suppose you could call it firmly telling him to be at the office for 9.30 the next morning. I don’t know if Werner has order his relatives or they are just very kind but this is like a 5 star hotel, I walked in from work about 6 and sat down and within 5 mins there was a plate of jam sandwiches in front of me a cup of tea and when I finished a brandy and coke that’s what I call service then a lovely dinner of beef stew. They even boiled some water so I could have an open air shower.
Wednesday 3rd September
Woke up early went outside to play with tiny the gyp like dog. And breakfast was served to me straight away and a shower prepared, she gave me what I thought was coffee well that’s what it looked like, and I didn’t want to be ungrateful so I poured water on it and drank it, it was hot chocolate mmm it was lovely, went to the office about 9.30, peter turned up to at 10 so obviously my strict call last night worked, I mean considerable improvement, from not turning up at all to only being 30 mins late
You just make sure Tiny stays there and not in ur rucksack to bring homs…lol
