Day 1 – preparing
Sunday 21st December
We were in Lilongwe as we had, had the AGM meeting the previous day which had finished quite late so we had to stay the night so we woke up early to leave for zomba. From the time we left Lilongwe we should have arrived in zomba at a fairly reasonable time, however, this was not the case it seems at the moment I’m having a bus journey curse or something like that I don’t know. But every time I’m using buses something always seems to go wrong to start with someone had parked there pickup in front of the bus at the bus stations now Lilongwe bus depot is insane I mean it makes absolutely no sense at all. So when someone parks a pick up in front of you, you just have to wait because there is absolutely no room to move at all. So anyway finally found the driver to the pickup and we were on our way. We managed to reach ntcheu about halfway through he journey when we stop at ntcheu bus depot to unload passengers etc. then the police tell us we can’t leave. Because the president is coming. I hate that guy. Why shut down a country just so he can pass through. We must have waited there about 2 hours and I’m just thinking guys come on ive got a load of preparations to do for tomorrows food distribution.
Anyway finally made it on our way, and back to Makwawa with no further hiccups. So at Makwawa we have got the scouts staying so we will be all together the following morning and we still need to rehearse the plays a bit more. So as soon as we arrived we had to sort out the scouts that had arrived and get food for them. Then we prepared dinner and went through the plays and songs for like a thousands times because people kept making mistakes. Finally managed to get everybody into bed and left it to chrrispin. I went down to the house prepare all the parcels for tomorrow making sure I’d put the right amount of stuff in one. So I think I finally went to bed about something in the morning.
